Emergency services race to Wishaw Sports Centre following road traffic collision

Emergency services rushed on Wishaw Sports Centre following a police incident.

It was reported to officers that there was a two car road traffic collision at the facility just after 10pm on October 28, which resulted in one of the vehicles having to take evasive action and crashed through the barriers at the facility and into the football field after colliding with another parked vehicle.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Alexander Street in Wishaw at around 10.10pm on Thursday, October 28, following a road traffic collision.

“Police and fire service had attended. There was no injuries to any of the driver’s involved.

“One driver was issued a ticket for S3 of the Road Traffic Act for careless driving.

“North Lanarkshire Council were made aware regarding the damage who thereafter scheduled the Roads department to attend the following day.”
