Emergency services race to Scots prison after reports of a fire

Emergency services were scrambled to a Scots prison this evening after reports of a fire in a cell.

The alarm was raised at Saughton Prison, Edinburgh, at around 8.10pm.

Passers-by reported a huge response including fire crews, police and paramedics.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We were called to a fire in a cell but it was extinguished before we arrived."
