Emergency services race to scene of two-car crash on Glasgow's Clydeside Expressway

Emergency services have raced to the scene of a two-car crash which has closed a busy road in the centre of Glasgow.

Police and ambulance were pictured at the incident on the Clydeside Expressway following the smash around 7.30pm on Thursday August 13.

There do not appear to be any serious injuries. One man is to be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

The entire east-bound carriage way has been closed off while teams deal with the incident. Road users are being advised to find alternative routes.

Traffic is heavy in the area, with a number of pictures appearing online showing massive tailbacks.

Witnesses report four ambulances, three police vehicles and two incident response teams at the collision.

Fire crews are also believed to be at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 730pm on Thursday August 13 following report of a two-car road crash on the Clydeside Expressway in Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended, however there does not appear to be any serious injuries.

"A man will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal on road traffic offences."
