Emergency services race to scene after woman hit by car in Horwich

Paramedics raced to the scene after a woman was hit by a car on a main road in Horwich.

The crash happened just before 6pm tonight (Wednesday) on Chorley New Road, police said.

The pedestrian was not believed to have suffered serious injuries, a spokeswoman for GMP said.

The driver remained at the scene.

There were no reports of any arrests.

A GMP spokeswoman said: "We were called at 5.55pm to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car.

"There were no serious injuries. The driver remained at the scene to speak with officers."
