Man taken to hospital after van overturns in Glasgow city centre

A man has been taken to hospital today after van overturned in a crash on a Glasgow road.

Emergency services scrambled to Bath Street in the city centre this morning at 7.49am after reports a vehicle had overturned.

Officers from Police Scotland, paramedics and the fire service were spotted on the scene as the van blocked the road.

In pictures posted online the white van could be seen lying on its side as firefighters stand on top of the vehicle.

A police spokeswoman told the Daily Record: "At around 7.45am emergency services were called to reports of a two-vehicle crash on the junction of Bath Street and Hope Street.

"One man has been taken to the Royal Infirmary for treatment.

"His condition is still unknown."

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they sent two appliances to the scene.

She said: "We were called to reports of a van crashing on Bath Street at 7.49am this morning.

"We remain at the scene."
