Emergency services race to railway incident in West Dunbartonshire

Emergency services are at the scene of a railway incident this morning.

Scotrail reported there were 'trespassers' on the railway line between Balloch and Renton at around 8:10am.

Trains from Balloch to Airdrie will now start from and terminate at Dumbarton Central and passengers are advised they will face delays to their journey.

Emergency crews are currently attending the incident. Scotrail staff are working with British Transport Police to re-open the line.

They said: "We’re expecting the line to be handed back to the signaller again from the team on site imminently. Once this happens, we’ll be able to start running trains to/from Balloch again."
