Emergency services race to ongoing incident between Falkirk High and Linlithgow

Emergency services were called to deal with an ‘incident’ on a busy Scots train line during morning rush hour.

Police were asked to attend the scene between Falkirk High and Linlithgow at around 7.30am on Wednesday, April 28.

The exact nature of the incident is not currently known but travellers were warned to expect delays while it remained ongoing.

ScotRail tweeted: “The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Falkirk High and Linlithgow. Trains running through these stations will be delayed.”

They later added: “Services are returning to normal but some services may still be cancelled, delayed or revised.”

The train line was completely clear shortly after 8am.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Linlithgow station shortly after 7am following concern for the welfare of a man.

“Officers attended and spoke with the man, who checked out to be okay and continued his journey. The report was made in good faith.”
