Emergency services race to multi-vehicle crash on Glasgow's Clydeside Expressway

Police and firefighters rushed to a major city road after a crash involving a number of vehicles.

The accident happened on the Clydeside Expressway near the SECC in Glasgow triggering traffic chaos and long tailbacks.

It is not known if anyone was injured.

Reports from Traffic Scotland suggest that the crash is affecting traffic in both directions.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “We were called to reports of a collision on the Clydeside Expressway around 11:20 am. Officers are currently on the scene with other emergency services.”

An update from Traffic Scotland said: “Lane 1 is closed Eastbound on the Clydeside Expressway due to the crash.

"Emergency services remain at the scene.”
