Emergency services race to major incident in Fife town as cops arrest man

Emergency services have raced to a Fife town following reports of a significant incident.

Police Scotland said officers attended an address in Pitcoudie, Glenrothes, to deal with reports of a disturbance.

They confirmed a 29-year-old man has been arrested at a property in Uist Road.

It is unclear if anyone was injured in the incident which took place at about 7.10pm, but ambulances were placed on standby to take people to hospital if needed.

A post on the North Glenrothes Community Council Facebook page said: “We are aware of an ongoing all emergency service response in Uist Road.

“Please do not congregate in the area. Our thoughts are with those involved, as well as their family and friends.”

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At 7.10pm police were called to reports of a disturbance on Uist Road, in Glenrothes.

“A 29-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances.”
