Emergency services race to major incident at East Kilbride house as locals claim 'body found'

Emergency services raced to a major incident in East Kilbride last night as cops locked down the area.

A large emergency response attended Alison Lea around 4pm on Friday evening as police officers cordoned off the street and an ambulance rushed to the incident.

The exact circumstances of the incident are not yet known (Mark Dee)

Local residents claim that a body was found at a property but police have not yet confirmed the exact circumstances of the incident.

One person who lives in the area reported seeing a female in her forties being taken into a police car.

They said: "There was a body found in Alison Lee.

"I saw a woman in late forties, shaking.

"She wasn’t cuffed but was escorted by two officers into the back of a police car."

Forensic officers wearing white suits and face masks were spotted entering a house on the street as police tape sectioned off the property.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
