Emergency services race to horror two vehicle crash on busy Wishaw street as officers lockdown road

A busy Wishaw road has been closed by police after a horror two vehicle collision.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Ryde Road near its junction with Waverley Drive after that alarm was raised at around 4.30pm.

Police and paramedics remain in attendance while diversions have been put in place for passing motorists.

The extent of any injuries sustained by people involved is not yet known.

Local reports suggest one of the vehicles involved may be a motorbike but this has not yet been confirmed.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We were called around 4.30pm on Thursday, 25 February, 2021 following the report of a two vehicle road crash on Ryde Road at its junction with Waverley Drive, Wishaw.

“Emergency services are currently in attendance and there are no details of injuries at this time.
