Emergency services race to Edinburgh's Canonmills after man dies in flat

Emergency services raced to Canonmills a man was found dead in a flat.

Officers and paramedics arrived at the scene on Beaverbank Place last night.  

Edinburgh Evening News reports that a witness saw up a number of police cars and two ambulances on the residential street in the early hours of this morning.

It is understood that the man was 38 year-old's and had died within the flat.

Police say a post mortem is due to take place to establish the exact cause of death but that they are not treating his death as suspicious at this time.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Police enquiries are ongoing into the death of a 38 year-old man within a flat in Beaverbank Place, Edinburgh on Monday, 8 June, 2020.

“A post mortem will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however at this time there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances. A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
