Emergency services race to Edinburgh flat after 43-year-old woman found dead

A 43-year-old woman has been found dead in an Edinburgh flat, it has been confirmed.

Emergency services raced to the scene on Tuesday morning after being "made aware of concern" for the individual at around 10am.

Police Scotland have now confirmed that the woman was pronounced dead a short time later.

Images seen by Edinburgh Live showed both police, ambulance and forensic crews at the scene for a number of hours, with police still said to be at the street.

The death is currently being treated as "unexplained", with a report to be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of concern for a 43-year-old woman at a property on Telford Road in Edinburgh.

"The woman was pronounced dead a short time later. Her death is being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
