Emergency services race to crash after 'van hits tree' on Scots road

Emergency services have raced to a crash on a Scots road this afternoon.

Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service are in attendance at the incident on East Road, Cupar.

It is understood a van crashed into a tree around 12.35pm today.

Details of injuries are not yet known and officers currently remain on the scene.

Traffic in the area is heavy on approach and drivers are being urged to avoid the area if possible.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 12.35pm on Friday, 23 April, to a report of a one vehicle crash on East Road, Cupar, involving a van.

"Emergency Services are currently in attendance.”
