Emergency services descend on street after car smashes into house

A car ploughed into a home in Whitefield in the early hours of this morning.

Fire crews were called to a property on Oak Lane at around 6am on Sunday (August 22).

It was reported a vehicle had crashed into the front of a house.

Police and fire crews helped make the scene safe before leaving the area after around half an hour.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just before 6am this morning (Sunday 22 August) firefighters were alerted to reports of a car having collided with the front of a house on Oak Lane, Whitefield.

“One fire engine from Whitefield station quickly arrived at the incident. Firefighters worked alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Police at the scene and made the area safe before departing after around half an hour.”
