Emergency services descend on quiet road in south Bristol

There has been a huge emergency services presence in Bishopsworth this afternoon (April 15).

Police, paramedics and crews from the air ambulance descended on a quiet road in the neighbourhood, at around 2.22pm.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police confirmed there had been a medical emergency in Dangerfield Avenue in Highridge.

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said they were called to a private address but were unable to give any further information.

A witness, who asked not to be named, told Bristol Live: "(There is a) massive police and ambulance presence in Dangerfield Avenue.

"Great Western Ambulance arrived too along with a critical care team

"I got there around 2.25pm and can’t even drive through the road, the helicopter landed on Highridge field about the same time."

Emergency services remained at the scene at time of publication.
