Disruption is expected to continue until later this afternoon.

ScotRail tweeted: "Due to the Police dealing with an incident at Port Glasgow, services between Port Glasgow and Gourock will experience disruption. We have ticket acceptance in place with McGills buses between Port Glasgow and Gourock."

They later added: "Services are now able to run. Whilst we recover our services and try to return to our normal schedule, there may be some disruption until later this afternoon."

The British Transport Police have been contacted for comment.
