Emergency services converge on Arthur’s Seat in daring ‘rocks rescue’ mission

Emergency services sprang into action on Arthur’s Seat this evening in a daring ‘rocks rescue’ mission.

Fire crews and paramedics were called to Arthur’s Seat in Holyrood Park at around 8pm tonight to rescue an injured man from the rocky summit.

Pictures show three fire engines and an ambulance parked on Queen’s Drive as reports from witnesses had paramedics in hazardous environment gear headed up the hill itself on foot.

Reports from the scene say a 26 year old man had suffered injuries including a dislocated shoulder near the top of the 823ft peak.

Given the rough terrain paramedics were be forced to carry a stretcher by hand to get the casualty back to the road.

A spokesperson in the Scottish Fire and Rescue Edinburgh Control room said: “We have crews in attendance, we will be able to provide an update shortly.”
