Emergency services called to street after woman falls from roof onto a shed

Emergency services were called to an incident this morning after a woman fell from the roof of a building at a house in Oldham.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said the person fell from the roof of a shed at the rear of a house on Thompson Lane in Chadderton just after 9am this morning (April 16).

Paramedics from North West Ambulance Service and one fire engine from Hollins fire station were all dispatched to the scene.

The circumstances behind the incident and whether any injuries were sustained are not yet known. Emergency services were on the scene for half an hour.

A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At 9.14am on 16 April, one fire engine from Hollins rescued one casualty from the roof of a shed at the the rear of a house on Thompson Lane, Chadderton after they had fallen onto it.

“The casualty was treated by paramedics and fire crews were in attendance for thirty minutes.”

Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: “At around 9:15am this morning (Sunday 16 April 2023), officers were called to a concern for welfare of a woman in her 30’s at a property on Thompson Lane in Chadderton, Oldham.

"Emergency services were called and a woman in her 30’s was taken to hospital with serious but not believed to be life threatening injuries.”
