Police, the fire service and paramedics descended on Colwick Country Park after they were called to reports of a male in the water there.

Nottinghamshire Police were called to the park, where there is a large lake and Colwick Marina, by colleagues from East Midlands Ambulance Service who arrived at around 2.40pm on Wednesday, June 24.

They were called to a report of a male in the water.

The force told Nottinghamshire Live he was reportedly out by 3.01pm.

There were no reports of any injuries and he had not taken in any water. But he was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre as a precaution.

East Midlands Ambulance Service and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were also called.

An EMAS spokeswoman said: "We received a call at 2.41pm today, 24 June to Colwick Country Park, Nottingham to assist with a medical emergency. We sent a paramedic in an ambulance car and a crewed ambulance and transported one patient to Queen’s Medical Centre."
