Several fire trucks were called to extinguish a blaze at an empty residential building in Turner on Monday night.
The property on Forbes Street was alight at about midnight with fire trucks on scene for more than an hour.
The building, across from the troubled Condamine Court public housing complex, had been empty of renters for several months.
An emergency services spokesperson on scene reported squatters had been living inside the property for sometime. However, there were no reports of any injury.
The fire was under control before the building, which appears to be slated for demolition, was engulfed. Neighbouring property was not affected.
