Emergency services called to M5 crash between lorry and car

Emergency services were called to a crash between a car and a lorry in the early hours of this morning (September 8).

Clevedon fire station tweeted their crews were called to reports of a collision between a HGV and a car on the M5 southbound at around 12.20am.

The fire service said that, on arrival, they found all people involved to be safe and already out of their vehicles.

Last week, three people were treated for minor injuries after a crash on the M5 near Bristol.

A coach, lorry and van were involved, and there were major delays all morning on the southbound carriageway.

Three of four lanes were closed for several hours, causing eight-mile tailbacks between the Gordano services and Almondsbury Interchange.

Also on the M5 last week, a banned driver was caught back on the roads "weaving in and out of traffic".
