Emergency services called to Kilmarnock street after report of large crowd setting off fireworks

Emergency services descended on a Kilmarnock street last night as Bonfire Night celebrations were in full swing.

Police and fire crews turned up at Loreny Drive in Shortlees after receiving a report of a large crowd setting off fireworks.

But cops confirmed that upon arrival at the scene there was no concern and the group had started to disperse.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called to Loreny Drive, Kilmarnock, around 7.40pm on Friday, November 5 to a report of large crowd setting off fireworks.

"On arrival there was no concern, and the crowds had started to disperse."
