Emergency services called to fire in south Bristol restaurant

Firefighters were called to a south Bristol restaurant after a fire broke out.

Crews from Bedminster and Temple Back attended the North Street Standard in Bedminster at 6.38am today (November 17).

They said the involved rags which were left unattended on a hot plate.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a high pressure hose in the incident.

A ventilation fan was used to clear smoke.

There was no report of anybody evacuated or hurt -the cause is thought to be accidental.

Restaurant employee Max Blunos told Bristol Live: "Everything is fine.

"A chef left something in a cupboard which just smoked out the whole building.

"We are back up and running and would like to say thanks very much to the fire service."
