Emergency services were called to a multi-vehicle crash on the N22 in Ballincollig this afternoon.
Two artic lorries and a car were believed to be involved in the smash which saw huge delays heading from Cork city towards Killarney.
A number of fire brigades and an ambulance were called to the collision although no one was believed to be seriously hurt.
The crash happened shortly after 12pm and was not fully cleared until 2pm when traffic started to ease.
Elsewhere in Cork there have been major delays on the M8 coming into the city to the Dunkettle interchange.
