Emergency services battling large house fire in Milngavie

Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a large house fire in Milngavie.

Scottish Fire and Rescue were called to the blaze at a building on St Edmunds Lane near Mugdock park after being alerted shortly after 1.20pm on Thursday July 9.

Five appliances and an aerial appliance are in attendance, with crews currently battling to control the inferno.

It is unclear at this stage if anyone has been injured in the incident.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 1.23pm on Thursday, July 9 to reports of a fire within a house at St Edmunds Lane, Milngavie.

“Operations control mobilised five appliances and an aerial appliance to the incident where firefighters currently remain on scene.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2:25pm, Scottish Fire Service advised police of a fire they were in attendance at in St Edmund's Lane Milngavie. 

"Emergency services are on the scene dealing with the fire and enquiries are ongoing.  We have no further info and would refer you to the Fire Service for anything further.
