Emergency services attend scene of HGV truck flipped onto side following crash in north Dublin

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a collision this afternoon which saw a large HGV truck roll over onto its side in north Dublin.

Dublin Fire Brigade was alerted to the scene earlier this afternoon, with firefighters from Phibsborough and North Strand responding to the collision. Pictures shared by DFB shows the huge truck flipped over onto its side on the road.

Taking to social media, Dublin Fire Brigade said that due to their size HGvs can require specialised equipment to remove them from a scene. They said: "Firefighters from Phibsborough and North Strand fire stations responded to a roll over HGV collision today.

"Due to their mass and height, HGVs can require specialised equipment in the event of a collision. Our emergency tenders carry platforms to enable access at height for HGVs," they added.

Earlier this morning, Dublin Fire Brigade rushed to the scene of a car flipped onto its roof in south Dublin. The collision happened on Boherboy Road in Saggart this morning.

Pictures shared by DFB shows a wrecked car on its roof with broken glass scattered on the ground. Dublin Live has contacted the gardai for a comment.
