Emergency services attend accident on A9 near Dunblane

Emergency services are at the scene of an accident near the busy Park of Keir roundabout by Dunblane.

It is understood that a lorry has overturned on the A9.

Eyewitnesses say that there are a number of ambulances and fire engines at the scene.

Southbound A9 traffic is currently backed up on the road and there are diversions through Dunblane.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a crash involving a single vehicle on the A9 near Keir Roundabout shortly after 9.45am on Tuesday, November 23.

“Emergency services are currently at the scene and the road is closed southbound, with a diversion in place through Dunblane.”

One bystander said: “It looks pretty serious. A yellow helicopter, an air ambulance, landed in a field near the roundabout.

“I spotted a fire engine in the area as well.

“As far as I can see traffic is only going northbound on the A9.”
