Watch and act fire warning for Goshen residents on Tasmania's east coast

Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) has downgraded an emergency warning for a bushfire at Terry Vale Road in Goshen near St Helens on the state's east coast.

TFS said the blaze was now rated as a watch and act, as fire crews had been able to burn around properties.

TFS said this action would prevent impact and protect any residents who had stayed in the area.

The fire service is still warning burning embers, falling on Terry Vale Road, could threaten homes.

It said smoke and ash would make it difficult to see and breathe, and could still put Terry Vale Road at risk, and would be difficult to control.
