An advisory committee of experts on countermeasures against the new coronavirus approved the Japanese government's plan to lift the state of emergency set in the prefectures of Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo on Thursday.
The three prefectures are among eight prefectures where a state of emergency is currently in effect due to the spread of the virus.
