Emergency crews rush to scene as man hospitalised after falling ill on Holyrood Road

A man has been hospitalised after falling ill near the Scottish Parliament building.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene on Holyrood Road at around 10:30 on Wednesday morning following a flurry of calls from concerned locals.

A 40-year-old man has been taken to hospital where his condition is currently unknown.

Police Scotland said they responded to reports of “concern for a person”.

The Scottish Ambulance Service also attended the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers in Edinburgh were called to reports of a concern for a person on Holyrood Road, around 10.30am on Wednesday, 27 May.

“A 40-year-old man was taken to hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
