Emergency crews at Loch Lomond amid 'concern for person in water'

Emergency crews descended on Loch Lomond amid reports of 'concern for a person' in the water.

Police, fire service and the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat raced to the shoreline at Balloch Country Park in West Dunbartonshire on Friday.

The alarm was raised at around 7pm.

A spokesperson from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) told the Record that they'd been called to the scene at 7.04pm.

SFRS refused to provide any further detail and cited the operations as a 'police matter'.

Police Scotland also confirmed the incident to the Record and said crews remained at the scene.

Cops assured that they were 'working with emergency services and partners' on the incident.

A spokeswoman from the force did not confirm that a rescue operation was definitely underway.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known.

No injuries have been reported at this stage.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Record: "Police are working with emergency services partners following a report of a concern for a person in the water at Balloch Country Park.”
