3.50pm:The Currowan fire continues to burn quickly towards the coast. All coastal areas east and west of the Princes Hwy between Nowra and Kioloa should seek shelter as the fire approaches.
3.30pm: The Princes Hwy is closed in both directions between the Kings Hwy and Dolphin Point Rd due to bushfire. Stay away.
Essential Energy says 30,627 customers in the Batemans Bay and Moruya region have just lost power due to bushfire affecting infrastructure.
3.20pm: Rural Fire Service Inspector Kelwyn White said the majority of fire activity was in Batemans Bay to the Moruya River area and around Bemboka and near Bega.
Inspector White said the Clyde Mountain fire had crossed the Kings Highway between North Batemans Bay and Nelligen and ran around Clyde Road, Bayridge Road and Batemans Road areas.
Further south, she said the Werri Berri fire had crossed the Snowy Mountains Highway, and it was too late to leave for residents west of Bega between the Snowy Mountains Highway in the north and Candelo-Bega Road in the south, as well as Desert Creek and Double Creek, it is too late to leave.
She said at the moment, the Badger Forest Road fire was still at watch and act.
She said an emergency warning alert was sent to people in the area north of the Moruya River, including Mogendoura and Polwombra to the Moruya Airport. It is too late to leave for residents.
Shortly after that alert was sent, another was sent out for the Clyde Mountain at North Batemans Bay, Surfside, Long Beach, South Durras and Maloneys area.
2.30pm: The Currowan fire has crossed the Shoalhaven River. If you are in the areas of Coolendel and North Nowra or Wandandian, Tomerong, Palmer and Basin View, it is too late to leave.
The Clyde Mountain fire is threatening areas north of Batemans Bay, Surfside, Long Beach, South Durras, Maloneys Beach and areas north of Moruya Rivers. It is too late to leave.
North Head Rd is closed in both directions between the Princes Hwy and Broulee Rd due to bushfire.
1.55pm: It is too late to leave at areas north of the Moruya River including the areas of Mogendoura and Polwombra and across to the coast in the area of the Moruya Airport.
The Princes Highway is closed in both directions between Mogo and Moruya and in both directions between Jervis Bay Rd, south of Nowra and Little Forest Rd, Milton.
Strong north-westerly winds are sweeping through the firegrounds.
If it is too late to leave in your area, seek shelter as the fire approaches. Seek shelter in a solid structure to protect yourself from the heat of the fire. Be alert to embers and spot fires.
