Embedded reporter reveals new US atrocity in Iraq

A correspondent for Associated Press, who is embedded with an American unit, has revealed another example of an atrocity committed by US troops. Ryan Lenz reported that five soldiers are being investigated for raping a young Iraqi woman, then killing her and three members of her family. The authorities had contended that insurgents were responsible for the murders until two or three soldiers spoke up. In a follow-up piece the New York Times pointed out that the investigation is the fourth into suspected killings of unarmed Iraqis by American soldiers in a single month. (Via Editor and Publisher)
