'Embarrassing!' - Fans react to reports of Real Madrid's Gareth Bale 'bid' for Raheem Sterling

The January transfer window may be less than two months away, but that has not stopped the rumour mill from being in full swing already.

The latest rumours surround the future of Manchester City star Raheem Sterling, who is reportedly attracting attention from Real Madrid ahead of the winter transfer window.

Sky Sports are reporting that Real Madrid are preparing a bid of £70million plus Gareth Bale for the England international, with the former Tottenham man having been linked with a return to the Premier League in the summer.

That failed to materialise, with Bale instead staying put at Real Madrid, where he has scored two goals in seven appearances so far this season.

But speculation continues over the future of the 30-year-old, who has previously been linked with Manchester United and Tottenham, among other clubs.

And the latest rumours over his future have got rival fans talking.

Some Manchester City fans have, unsurprisingly, reacted with dismay to the prospect of a bid for Sterling, who has scored 13 goals in 15 appearances for Pep Guardiola's men so far this season.

Meanwhile, fans of other clubs in the Premier League have also been commenting on the reports of a bid from Real Madrid, with many suggesting that it is not a deal City should entertain.

Here's what fans have been saying about the reports of a cash plus Gareth Bale bid.
