Embarrassed dad returns home from walk with six month old baby without £600 pram

A red-faced dad has managed to return from a walk with his two young children without their expensive pram.

With four-year-old Esme and six-month-old baby Theo in tow, dad Chris loaded the youngsters into their car seats, but forgot to pack the £600 Bugaboo into the boot and drove home.

Inside the grey pram were toys, clothing and a much-loved musical rabbit belonging to the little boy.

The gutted dad raced back to the car park at Wepre Park, Connah’s Quay in Flitshire but the pushchair had gone.

Partner Amy, 27, and Chris went back to scour the woods this morning but found no trace of the cherished pram.

They are now appealing for the public’s help in tracing the Bugaboo, North Wales Live reports.

“I wasn’t impressed (with Chris),” said Amy, an advisor at a children’s centre.

“He’s not in my good books at the moment.

“To be fair, he’s more gutted than I am about the pram – especially as he will probably have to buy a new one now!”

Chris took the couple’s children Esme and baby Theo, to Wepre Park yesterday afternoon.

It was only when he returned home to the couple’s home in Broughton, Flintshire, that he realised he was missing something.

Amy said: “I don’t know how he managed to do it.

“To get the pram into the van, he had to pull out from the parking spot as there was a grass bank behind the vehicle.

“He strapped the kids in the van and then drove off without the pram.

“It was about 4.45pm, and was dark by then, so I suppose he just didn’t see it.”

Soon after arriving back home, Chris drove back to Wepre Park but the Bugaboo was nowhere to be found.

Amy returned there this morning, just in case local youths had dumped it in the park’s woodlands.

She also called at Connah’s Quay police station to see if it had been handed in.

“I’m pretty upset it’s gone missing as the pram was still fairly new and will be expensive to replace,” said Amy.

“It’s not something I can do without for long.”

Bugaboos are a popular and highly rated Dutch brand. Amy’s was grey with a silver chassis.

Since Amy appealed for information on Facebook, offers of help to find the pram have flooded in members of the public.

The park’s cafe manager has offered to keep an eye and a local resident has offered her a replacement.
