PHETCHABUN - Floodwater inundated about 150 houses in Lom Sak district of this northern province after an embankment of the Pasak River burst late Saturday night.
A five-metre-long section of the embankment collapsed in Moo 8 village of tambon Tan Diao as the river rose.
Lom Sak district chief Pakpoom Poomee said the flooding started about 11pm on Saturday and was now receding. The situation in the flooded Lom Sak municipal area was under control and repairs to the embankment were underway, he said.
The flooding reached five villages and affected about 500 people in about 150 residences. There were no casualties, he said.
