Em the Nutritionist teams up with Dinings SW3 for 'nourishing' January menu

Emily English, better known to her 2.1m followers as @emthenutritionist, has turned her clean eating philosophy into content, cookbooks — and now a Chelsea lunch menu.

This January, the dietician is collaborating with Dinings SW3 on a limited edition lunch menu, rooted in nourishment, comfort and flavour. Running until the end of the month, Jiyo — which translates as “to renourish” in Japanese — is a £35 three-course set menu available to order for lunch at the Chelsea restaurant, or via Deliveroo.

Bringing together chef and owner Masaki Sugisaki’s Japanese-influenced cooking with English’s “Vitamin Joy” philosophy — that healthy eating needn’t be a chore — the menu focuses on food that fuels the body, but still offers the enjoyment of a good meal.

“The menu has been created to renourish rather than deprive, especially at a time of year when so many people feel pressured to restrict,” said English.

“We wanted the Jiyo set to feel comforting and satisfying, but built on real nutrition, food that supports your skin, energy and mood, while still tasting like a meal out at one of my favourite restaurants in London,” she added.

Opening with a super collagen broth miso soup, served with julienned winter root vegetables, there’s the option of adding Sugisaki’s house-made 20-ingredient chilli oil for an extra kick. An alternative made with dried mushroom and kombu broth is also available for vegetarians.

For the main course, diners can choose between the superfood chirashi poke bowl — featuring omega-3-rich tuna, yellowtail and trout, mixed with roasted sesame soy, as well as avocado, edamame, seaweed and pickled ginger — and a plant-based spicy miso tofu option.

As for dessert, diners are offered cacao truffle bites made with coconut cream, Japanese cane sugar and roasted popped brown rice. For those avoiding Dry January, English has also crafted two cocktails with the Dinings SW3 bar team to accompany the dishes — a lime and celery margarita and a Tomatini.

Sugisaki said that the menu collaboration was “a great way to mark what can be quite a joyless month”, adding that despite his 30 years of culinary experience, English’s “knowledge of the nutritional qualities of ingredients is far beyond what I can claim to know, so it’s been great to learn from her.”

“Whilst the menu has health benefits, most importantly we wanted to create something comforting, flavourful and fun, but which can offer a few added benefits when we may need a little boost.”

Jiyo will be available at lunchtimes at the restaurant and via Deliveroo until 31 January. Walton St, SW3 2JH, diningssw3.co.uk
