Elyounoussi and Ajer 'in the clear' as Celtic optimistic Norwegian pair will be available for Hibs clash

Celtic are optimistic Mohamed Elyounoussi and Kris Ajer are 'in the clear' after their coronavirus scare on international duty with Norway.

The Parkhead club feared the pair would be forced to quarantine for ten days after team-mate Omar Elabdellaoui tested positive.

Norway were ordered not to travel to Romania by their government, but Lars Lagerback’s squad were already en route to Bucharest when they were told their Nations League clash was postponed.

Elyounoussi and Ajer were allowed to return to Glasgow, but were told they still needed to self-isolate under Norwegian guidelines.

And multiple reports claimed if any of Norway's players featured for their clubs at the weekend, they would be breaking Norwegian laws which could carry 'fines and prison time'.

But the Daily Record believe Celtic are confident the SFA joint response group will give them the green light to play Jack Ross' men this weekend and the Scottish goverment's rules will supersede Norway's.

The duo have returned three negative tests upon their arrival and did not come in close contact with Elabdellaou.
