Elvis tribute singer fined £9,000 for belting out early morning hits in his kitchen

Elvis impersonator Dean Holland has wowed fans all over the world.. but his neighbours are all shook up.

Dean, 45, regularly streamed live performances from the kitchen of his semi in the early hours.

But neighbours complained to the council and the dad of one was served with a noise abatement order.

And, after flouting the order, he and his partner have been ordered to pay £9000 in fines and costs.

Council officials later obtained a warrant and seized electrical equipment, including DJ gear, speakers and a jukebox, worth £3000.

Dean said of his neighbours in Bradford: “I just don’t think they like Elvis.

“I have never had complaints anywhere else.”

But the city’s magistrates handed Dean and partner Katie Mooney, 33, a total of £9376 in costs and fines for five breaches of the order.

He added: “Unfortunately we are in different time zones so when I perform for an international audience it can be antisocial hours.

“I perform as a guest singer on Facebook Elvis fan pages, so I will set myself up in the kitchen and put on an hour-long concert.

“I don’t get paid for this. I do this to bring the fans together, to reach out to those who are lonely or can’t get out.”

Dean, who travels the UK to perform at weddings and birthdays, added: “I always say if what I’m doing causes a problem come round and talk to me.

"But they have never been to see me.”

Resident Noreen Akhtar said: “Dean is lovely.

“He’s always checking he’s not too loud. I’ve never had a problem.”
