Dutch winger Elvio van Overbeek has paid tribute to Glentoran after leaving the club.

The 26-year-old joined Glentoran last summer from Dutch side Telstar.

Manager Mick McDermott said: "Throughout his time at the club Elvio has been a top professional and a special person we will all miss.

"He contributed to our success this year in a big way."

Van Overbeek took to Twitter to bid his farewell, as he returns to his native Netherlands to decide on his next move.

He tweeted: "I want to thank everyone at the @Glentoran the fans it was a pleasure to wear the and ending with a medal in the Cup Good luck for the Europa and in the Future."

Van Overbeek becomes the second player to leave Glentoran after Croatian goalkeeper Marijan Antolovic departed last week.
