Sir Elton John's Rocket Pictures has decided to take inspiration from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice – a perennial ratings-puller on TV – for a new film. Well, just the title. The film, says the Daily Mail, will be called Pride and Predator and will feature aliens. It will be co-produced by Elton's partner, David Furnish, who said the idea felt like a "fresh way to blow apart the done-to-death Jane Austen genre by dropping this alien in the middle of a costume drama". The alien apparently "stalks and slashes to horrific effect". The movie will follow Rocket's Shakespeare adaptation Gnomeo and Juliet, which features James McEvoy and Emily Blunt as the star-crossed lovers in a world of warring indoor and outdoor gnomes. Oscars beckon.
