Elton John gets kids involved for incredible response to Step Into Christmas trend

Elton John couldn't resist getting involved after a viral trend was launched around his song Step Into Christmas.

The legendary singer, 73, showed off his excitement during the festive period on his TikTok account with his latest video clip.

The Rocket Man hitmaker dressed up as Santa Claus and put a smile on his fans' faces alongside his husband David Furnish and their kids Zachary, nine, and Elijah, seven.

His children are rarely seen on his social media, so it was a huge deal for the star to post a video of them both.

TikTok users have been sharing their own snippets on the app as they dance along to Elton's classic Christmas tune from 1973.

David, 58, wowed followers as he stepped out in an incredible blow-up costume.

He also added funky Christmas pudding glasses for an extra festive feel.

Clearly inspired by his fans to make the video, Elton wrote as his caption: "We were so inspired by all of your amazing #StepIntoChristmas videos, we made our own!"

His video comes after his fans have been sharing the TikTok videos as they put up their decorations amid the pandemic.

Last week, the singer revealed he and David have a tradition that they stick to each year at Christmas.

They follow a strict "one gift rule" as the family "don't need anything" as they are "very blessed".

Elton told the Loose Women: "We have a one gift rule because we don't need anything, we are very blessed in life.

"The thing I am most looking forward to is Christmas with our sons, because there is nothing like Christmas with children.

"All the magic for us with Christmas has just gone off the charts since we had our boys."

His sweet and selfless message certainly made the panelist smile.
