Elon Musk Says Starlink Will Be in Every Car, Calls It the ‘Only Way’ To Connect Billions of Vehicles

Starlink

Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:SPCX) and Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk says all cars will eventually feature Starlink connectivity, arguing satellite internet could provide high-bandwidth connectivity to billions of vehicles.

Elon Musk Says All Cars Will Have Starlink

On Saturday, influencer Sawyer Merritt took to X to share a picture of a Cybercab with Texas plates undergoing testing. The vehicle appeared to feature a flush-mounted Starlink dish on its rear.

Quoting Merritt’s post, investment firm Mach33 CEO Aaron Burnett touted Starlink as a potential game-changer for travel, prompting a response from Musk.

"All cars will have Starlink in the future," Musk said. He added that Starlink capabilities in vehicles were crucial because they were "the only way to get super high bandwidth to billions of vehicles."

Musk Reaffirms $1 Trillion SpaceX Revenue Goal

The comments come as Musk, in a response to venture capitalist David Friedberg, said that the satellite internet service was capable of generating more than $1 trillion in annual revenue for SpaceX, saying that it would “eventually carry more than 50% of global internet traffic.”

Musk, during SpaceX’s first earnings call since going public, had said that he believes a $1 trillion in annual revenue figure was possible for SpaceX by 2030. Musk’s bullish outlook was backed by X Prize Foundation‘s Peter Diamandis, who said that the company could be worth $10 trillion in the future.

SpaceX Share Lock-Up

With more than 900 million SpaceX shares released and added to the company’s float after the end of the stipulated lock-up period in accordance with the terms agreed upon with insiders, a former SpaceX engineer said that he was looking forward to selling the stock, lamenting its volatility.

Benzinga Edge Rankings show SpaceX fails to provide a favorable price trend in the Short, Medium and Long term.

Price Action: SpaceX shares were up 0.58% to $133.88 during overnight trading.
