Donald Trump and the Republicans are feeling the pressure of the NYC mayoral elections. With multiple sources predicting a win for “communist” and “socialist” Zohran Mamdani over sexual assaulter Andrew Cuomo and Republican representative Curtis Sliwa, billionaires like Elon Musk are doing everything they can to sway the results in their favour.
On November 4, the day of the NYC mayoral elections, Elon Musk made a last-minute effort to influence voters by posting on X (formerly Twitter), urging people to vote for Independent candidate Andrew Cuomo. He also cautioned against voting for Curtis Sliwa, noting that a vote for him would technically mean voting for Zohran Mamdani or as he likes to call him, “Mumdumi”.
After Elon Musk showed support for Andrew Cuomo through X, people began to notice an interesting pattern in Musk’s behaviour: his tendency to endorse people accused of sexual assault. One person pointed out that with this incident, the count had now reached to three. They wrote:
“This is the third sexual assaulter you have endorsed. Which is not a lot, but weird, it has happened three times.”
Another individual highlighted how Musk’s words were part of a larger structure he wished to normalise, making it difficult for people to challenge them afterwards. They wrote:
“When the world’s richest man jokes about elections, it isn’t a meme. It’s a mass conditioning exercise wrapped in irony. He isn’t endorsing. He’s testing. He’s watching how fast a joke becomes a movement. Every syllable is an algorithmic probe. Every laugh is a data point. Every repost redraws the boundary of what’s acceptable. They call it engagement. It’s actually consent collection. You think he’s reminding you to vote. He’s reminding the machine who still obeys the tone of command.”
Several others echoed similar thoughts. Just a week earlier, Elon Musk had made a post about Zohran Mamdani on X, calling him the “future of the Democratic Party.” At that time, people were struggling to interpret his comments as either genuine or sarcastic, but Musk’s recent remarks clarify that he isn’t really capable of goodness.
