An Elmwood Park man was fatally hit by a vehicle Thursday in west suburban Northlake.
Richard Olcikas, 52, was struck by a vehicle in the 2100 block of North Mannheim Road, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was pronounced dead about 9 p.m.
An autopsy ruled his death an accident, saying he died of injuries from being struck by a vehicle, according to the medical examiner’s office.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene but was later apprehended after they were involved in a second crash, according to Northlake Police Chief Norm Nissen.
However, they were released without charges pending further investigation.
