A disqualified, out-of-control driver who hit a young woman while she was taking out rubbish bins has pleaded guilty to a number of driving offences.

Elliot McVicar, 25, pleaded guilty in Adelaide Magistrates Court to causing harm by dangerous driving and driving disqualified.

McVicar hit 29-year-old Sian Kennedy, who was taking bins to the kerb outside her family home on Berrima Road, in Sheidow Park,  just before 7:00pm on March 21.

Emergency services were called to the scene and treated Ms Kennedy for severe leg, head and chest injuries before she was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre.

She remains in hospital undergoing treatment.

On the day of the incident, SA Police said it appeared McVicar's car had veered onto the wrong side of the road and crashed into a Kia that was heading south.

McVicar's car was said to have then "spun out" and hit a parked car and Ms Kennedy.

McVicar and the driver of the Kia were treated for minor injuries.

He will face court again in June.
