Ellie Warner back on Gogglebox tonight after boyfriend hit by car

Gogglebox favourite Ellie Warner has confirmed she and sister Izzi are returning to the hit Channel 4 show this evening after a brief absence.

The Leeds-born comedic duo were missing from recent episodes of the new series due to an incident involving Ellie's boyfriend Nat Eddleston. He was left severely injured and admitted to intensive care in March after being hit by a car in Leeds during a night out.

West Yorkshire Police had confirmed in April that inquiries into the incident were "ongoing" as the "pedestrian remained in critical but stable condition". Ellie took to Instagram on Friday to share the good news with fans that she would be back on screens to discuss the latest telly with her sister.

Alongside a smiley selfie of her and Izzi on the sofa, brews in hand, she wrote: "Looking forward to getting back on your screens tonight! Thank you for all the well wishes, we are really grateful that things are getting back to normal."

Izzi then shared the snap to her Instagram Stories and wrote: "See you all at 9 thank you for the love and support." Followers rushed to share kind messages on the post, with hundreds commenting on how much they had been missed.

Fellow Gogglebox star Sophie Sandiford replied: "[love heart emojis] great to see you both back!! Xxxx" while co-stars Dave and Shirley replied: "Great to have you back xxxx."

Fan Jenise said: "Yeeees. Missed you." Jodie commented: "Oh Ellie this is great news. I’m so pleased for you. Best get the wine in the fridge. Looking forward to seeing you both xxx".

It appears Ellie's boyfriend Nat is continuing his recovery following the traumatic incident six weeks ago. Ellie had asked people to make a donation to Headway - a UK charity that provides vital support to those who have suffered from brain injury.

The hairdresser wrote on her Facebook page: "For my birthday this year, I’m asking for donations to Headway - the brain injury association. I’ve chosen this charity because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope that you’ll consider contributing as a way of celebrating with me."
