Ellie Goulding teases excited fans as she announces new album is coming soon

Ellie Goulding has announced there is new music on the way, and it's left her fans thriving with excitement.

The 33-year-old British songstress teased her big comeback with a brand new album as she shared the news on social media.

She's been quiet on the music scene recently, having released her last single Worry About Me in March, but it appears the pop star is back and better than ever as she prepares to launch her fourth album.

The good news is that fans only have to wait until July 17 to get their hands on the singer's new album Brightest Blue.

Taking to Instagram and Twitter on Wednesday, Ellie announced: "Brightest Blue. My 4th album. July 17."

She showcased the front cover, which featured an incredible blue portrait image of Ellie, with some fans referring to her as Lana Del Rey.

The shocking announcement sent her listeners into meltdown, as they went into a frenzy in the comments.

One penned: "I can’t wait for it. A new era is coming and I’m so excited ellie❤️❤️❤️"

Another wrote: "OH MY GOD FINALLYYYYYYYYYYY"

Ellie stated that fans can pre-order Brightest Blue, and gave a sneak peek at the tracklist.

There are 18 new songs set to be on the two-part album, including Power, New Heights, Love I'm Given and How Deep is Too Deep.

It will also be released as a vinyl and there's the opportunity for fans to get a signed boxset.

Describing the first part of her new album, Ellie says: "It acknowledges a complex world where relationships still dictate our happiness and heartbreak and can still be the most painful thing in the world, no matter how enlightened you are. The tracks also symbolise growing up and becoming a woman."
