Ellie Goulding joked she had accidentally dressed as ‘a carpet’ as she took up her guitar to sing for fans as part of Lady Gaga’s epic One World: Together At Home Special concert on Saturday.
The 33-year-old chart topping star was part of the huge six hour warm up show ahead of the main event in which she performed a stripped back version of her 2013 song Burn.
However, the star also performed some impromptu comedy as she addressed the cameras from her home.
With her hair tied back, and guitar on her lap, Ellie raised some laughs as she introduced the song she was going to sing.

“This is another song. It’s a slightly older one. And I just became aware that I look like I’m wearing a carpet,” she said with a smile.
Ellie gave tips and advice about how she is spending time watching comedy videos online to keep herself calm amid the ongoing pandemic.
“Humans can be amazing. Everyone has come together and shown such kindness. People are making each other laugh and making videos and making memes,” she said.

“It keeps us going and keeps us laughing. Watching comedy has got me through this time,” she revealed.
The British singer went on to confess she has been finding it hard to keep herself locked away, but hopes that the end to lockdown will come sooner rather than later.
“I’m finding it really hard. Music has been helping. I’ve been listening to old stuff,” she said.
“Music really has saved me recently having to be indoors. If you’re anything like me and love to be out and about in the sunshine,” she went on.
But she added: “Because we’re all staying in together, hopefully it means this will all be over sooner and we can catch the last of the summer. That would be amazing.”
Lady Gaga has gathered some of the biggest music acts in the world to perform on Saturday in the USA, with the grand final concert due to star airing at 1am BST on Sunday 19 April.
The show will air on the BBC on Sunday night from 7pm.
